Big Rapids, Mich. – The nationally second-ranked Ferris State Bulldogs stayed unbeaten on the year as FSU ran away with a 62-28 triumph over Central Washington in the NCAA Division II Showcase National Game of the Week on Saturday (Sept. 14) night at Tomlinson Stadium in Ellensburg, Wash.

The Bulldogs built a 34-14 third quarter lead before the Wildcats rallied back to pull within a score at 34-28 early in the fourth quarter.

However, Ferris State scored three times within a four-minute span after Central Washington closed the gap to put the game out of reach.

With the win, FSU improved to 2-0 on the year. The victory came on the longest trip in school history for the Bulldogs.

Senior quarterback Jayru Campbell returned to the FSU lineup and completed 17-of-29 throws for 271 yards and three TD’s, including a big 72-yard scoring toss to sophomore wideout Xavier Wade after the Wildcats had pulled within six.
