DETROIT, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University football team was picked to finish fourth in the Mid-American Conference West Division today, July 23, in the league’s preseason poll. The poll was announced at the conference’s annual MAC Football Media Day at Ford Field and was determined by members of the league’s media members.

The Eagles received 83 points, finishing ahead of Ball State (43) and Central Michigan (36). Toledo was selected to win the West Division with 127 total points, followed by Western Michigan (112) and defending MAC Champion Northern Illinois (103) then EMU.

In the East Division, Ohio was selected first with 144 total points ahead of Miami with 107 total points. Defending East Division Champion Buffalo finished third with 100 points, followed by Kent State with 62 points, then Akron (54) and Bowling Green (37).

Five teams received votes to win the annual Marathon MAC Football Championship Game between the winners of the West and East Divisions. The Bobcats garnered 13 votes, while Toledo (7), Western Michigan (2), Northern Illinois (1), and Central Michigan (1) were each featured on ballots.

The 2019 EMU football season will feature a year-long series of events, initiatives, and programming centered around fans, student-athletes, and the community. The celebration will salute the five decades of student-athletes that have played inside Rynearson Stadium as well as the more than 2.8 million fans who have passed through the turnstiles to watch one of the 252 home games in the venue. Furthermore, the College Football 150th Anniversary celebration will be recognized at all divisions of the collegiate game during the 2019 season.

EMU faculty and staff can secure season tickets for $70 ($14 per game), while youth season tickets are just $50 ($10 per game).
